How does Verified by Visa work?

There are two ways Verified by Visa can work to protect your security:

• If you or your bank are enrolled with Verified by Visa, you might be asked to answer a security question to confirm your identity before you can complete a purchase with your Visa card.
• Or, during Order Review, your bank may present you with a Verified by Visa challenge.

Note: For the password prompt, you will need to enter the password you set up with the Verified by Visa program.

If your challenge is successful, when you click "Submit," your order will be placed. If your challenge is unsuccessful, you will be prompted to enter another form of payment (a different credit or debit card) before you can continue with your order.

I failed my challenge. What can I do?

You can try entering another form of payment (a different credit or debit card).

If the alternate method of payment fails, please contact the bank that issued your credit card for technical support. For security reasons, Bloomingdale's cannot offer you technical support regarding this challenge process.

Does Bloomingdale's store any information I send to my bank during this challenge process?

Bloomingdale's does not receive or store any information you enter during the challenge process. This information is shared securely between you and your bank.
