How do I return gifts purchased from my registry?

Registered for it, but don't love it? That's OK. We've all been there.

You'll have 365 days after your Occasion date to return almost any gift you've received from your Bloomingdale's registry for a refund in the form of store credit, as long as the item is still in saleable condition. While we cannot accommodate every return, we value you and will always be reasonable. We ask that you do the same. Our hassle-free return policy is part of our commitment to taking care of you every step of the way. More than anything, we want you to love our style as much as we love yours.

To make your registry return and exchange process as easy as possible, we recommend that you schedule an appointment with your Registry Concierge. They will help you finalize your choices and fill you in on any information you may need for your returns and exchanges.

We will issue a merchandise credit for any gift you receive, using your Registry purchase list, original receipt, or proof-of-purchase label. No receipt and the item is not on your purchase list? We will issue a merchandise credit and you will receive the lowest selling price in the last 180 days. Registrants cannot receive cash/check back for items they received as gifts; store credit does not expire.

How do I return a gift purchased on

Gifts purchased online can be returned in store or through the mail at any time after purchase up to the 365 days after your occasion.

Returning to a Store - Bring the items(s) to be returned to your local Bloomingdale's store . (hyperlink:

  • You will be issued a refund based on price at point of gift purchase in the form of a Bloomingdale's "Happy Returns" Gift Card. Store associates can use original receipt, gift receipt, registry info, CRL, order number or other proof-of-purchase to verify.
  • If you do not have the invoice or gift receipt, credit will be issued in the form of a Bloomingdale's "Happy Returns" Gift Card for the item's lowest selling price within the last 180 days.

Returning by Mail - Follow these simple steps from a desktop computer:

  1. Look up your order and select the "Yes" button next to the "Is this order a gift?"
  2. Enter your zip code and click the "Find My Order" button.
  3. Click the "Return Items" button, fill out the form, then verify and submit your return.
  4. Print out the confirmation page and shipping return label(s).
  5. Include the confirmation page inside the package along with the invoice or gift receipt. Affix the shipping label to the outside of the box (each label can be used for one return only).
  6. Take the package to any UPS drop-off location.

Please note: Gifts returned by mail without an invoice or gift receipt cannot be processed and will be returned to sender.
